Each year, people of the Columbia Gorge nominate and vote for sustainability champions honored at the annual Go! Gorge Owned Earth Day event. The Tod J. LeFevre Sustainability Champion award celebrates people of our community working on innovative, creative solutions to the environmental, economic, and social issues facing the Gorge. Last year Susan and Jurgen Hess of Envirogorge and Hess Photography were selected as sustainability champions for the individual category and presented with the Tod J. LeFevre award (pictured left). Other winners included Solstice Wood Fire Cafe and student Charley Boonstra of the HRVHS Climate Action Club.
Please join us at the 2016 Gorge Earth Day Celebration on April 20th 6 p.m. at Springhouse Cellar in Hood River, Oregon. There will be live music, kids activities, local fare, information about volunteer earth day projects, and the Sustainability Champions for 2016 will be honored. There is a sliding scale donation of $5-10 at the door, kids under 12 are free.
Envirogorge will have a table at the Gorge Earth Day Celebration we will have a live native plant quiz complete with prizes for the winners!
