About K.C. Mehaffey

K.C. Mehaffey has been writing about the environment from her home in Twisp, Washington for nearly 40 years. She writes about fish—especially Columbia Basin salmon—for NewsData, as writer and editor of the monthly NW Fishletter. During a 20-year stint at The Wenatchee World, K.C. covered everything from murder trials to rural health care, earning several Society of Professional Journalism awards. In 2014, the daily newspaper honored her with employee of the year for covering the Carlton Complex wildfire.
